ESTHER S CONROY
DIRECTOR
Esther S Conroy is a young writer and director from England, now based between Edinburgh and Amsterdam. Originally studying an art and design degree, she specialised in lens and based media and discovered her passion for filmmaking. Since she has begun her film career Esther has worked as a director, editor and makeup artist and enjoys the imaginative storytelling that each of these disciplines offers. Esther has had a strong interest and passion for the horror genre since she was a child and is greatly inspired and influenced by the psychological aspects that can be explored in the genre. Esther is particularly interested in obsession and the motivation behind it, a theme she has explored in previous films and wants to continue examining in Nocturnal.

MATTHIJS KLIJN
SOUND DESIGNER
Matthijs Klijn graduated as Sound Designer from the Dutch Film Academy in 2015. Oriented on both production sound and sound design he formed a team with his classmate Brandon Grötzinger to be able to compete broadly within the industry. Over the past two years he has worked on various television, theatre and arthouse productions both on the production sound and sound design. Together with Brandon and their team he was responsible for production sound and loop groups on TV-Drama ‘Jungle’ by Director Hetty de Kruif which was nominated for a Golden Calf at the Dutch Film Festival and was selected by the Dutch Film Fund and Dutch Public Broadcasters to be one of the Dutch entries for the International Emmy Awards. He is currently working on various documentaries and fiction productions for Dutch television and cinema distribution, in different stages of production and post production.
TATENDA MAZADZA
CINEMATOGRAPHER
Wayne is an enthusiastic and ambitious cinematographer with an eye for precision and artistic detail. After moving from Harare, Zimbabwe to Edinburgh in 2010 he immediately started off in set design and live performance. He continued to work within the industry as a freelance videographer, content producer and editor, claiming a BAFTA nomination as well as a Royal Television of Scotland nomination in 2016. Wayne understands the power that the camera brings, that it is a communication method that brings the viewer into a story and lets the director and their team tell it.

GEORGIA MIDDLEMISS
PRODUCER
Georgia comes from Newcastle upon Tyne, England, and currently lives in Edinburgh. She has previously been involved with Northern Stars, and as a result directed Closure (2016), a film that won Best Professionally Supported Factual Film at the Royal Television Society's North East & The Border Center Young People's Media Festival in 2016. Her focus is producing, having co-produced the short films, My Head on the Mountain, and Roxy Smiles in 2017. Her motives derive from a need to tell stories and her admiration of film as a method of storytelling; her focus is real people, real experiences, and real passion.

JONNA LAITEN
PRODUCTION DESIGNER
Jonna Laitinen is an aspiring production designer based in Edinburgh. She has worked on a number of short films as a production designer, art director and as an art department assistant. Having lead the build of two film sets before, such as the interiors of a submarine on Snail Shell Seekers (2016) and a coal mine on Darkling (2017), she is very keen on learning more about combining shooting on location and on a built set, therefore looking forward to yet another challenge.

KIT McMURDO-SCHAD
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Kitty's experience in her hometown of Edinburgh combined with the many projects she has taken part in, such as the BFI Screenwriting Academy, and her time working for Pocket Motion Pictures video production company in London, have given her ample opportunity to hone her filmmaking skills and drive her passion for film. She credits the source of her love affair with film as her mother, a professional photographer, and says her exposure to film and photo from an early age inspired her to pursue filmmaking, believing film to be an immersive all-encompassing creative outlet that can capture life in all its forms.
